Roy Keefer

The first day Roy hunted View Point. At daylight a doe was under his stand. She was joined shortly by a year and a half 8-point. A 3 1/2 year old 8-point came up and the smaller buck smelled his butt and jabbed him in the ribs with its antlers. They locked horns and playfully sparred.

Later in the morning a black Hawaiian Ram and a Mouflon came through. They were close enough but Roy didn't shoot.

That afternoon he hunted #21W. Three bucks were 150 yards away for half an hour. Roy videoed them. One was a 5 1/2 year old monster 8-point. The bucks kept their distance.

The next morning Roy hunted #16 and saw a black buck and a pack of hogs that he couldn't get a shot at because of the brush.

Afternoon: Roy sat on the Pipeline in my blind and setup. He saw a forky and a doe and 5 other bucks. The bucks crossed 60 yards away.

3rd Day:
Morning: Roy sat on the H stand. Does came in the area at daylight and were accompanied by a small 8-point. Roy heard noise behind him. Coming off the hill were 2 10-points that were record book class. Although they were in the area half an hour they didn't present an opportunity for a shot. The bucks wandered up the hill side and sparred for a minute. All the deer left the area.
A small sixer walked underneath the stand. From the time Roy came until he left there were deer around him.

Afternoon: At #21W Roy saw 4 does at a distance. At dark a herd of pigs came around him but it was too dark to shoot.

4th Day:
Morning: Roy returned to 21W and at daylight several deer were in the area. An hour later a nice buck walked out of the brush and approached Roy's treestand. This morning's hunt was the last hunt for Roy and he took the oppotunity and drew his bow. The arrow hit perfectly and the buck ran a short distance and fell in sight.

Roy called Billy Don on the cell phone and we drove to his stand, congratulated Roy, and took pictures.
