During the Writers Camp portion of this event each of the 5 manufacturers gave a talk about their companies and products and answered the questions of the 6 writers. When Mark Weiser talked about his 24 Seven Scent Solution products he got my attention.

For starters this scent method lasts several days and keeps scent in the area around the clock (or 24 seven). The Dominant Buck and Estrus Doe scents come from glands and urine and Early Buck is all gland based, no urine. Mark's product is Granular and comes in a shaker bottle. The granules hold scent for days.  It also comes Unscented and you can pour your own favorite scent in the shaker to make a longer lasting scent. Plus, when absorbed, a 4-oz bottle will make 10-ozs of Mark's granules.

This unique scent product as well as Mark's knowledge and sincerity had sparked my interest. So when I returned from my morning hunt I asked him if he could set up my area with 24 Seven. He said yes and we drove to the area and Mark fixed me up. As Chip used my limb loppers to clear away some of the twigs and branches that could deflect an arrow I took a few pics of Mark as he set the area up.

Below, Mark is explaining that he is going to make a fake scrape in the leaves. Then he kicked the leaves around to expose the ground and shook some of his Estrus Doe scent into the newly made scrape. 

Mark walked around and located a real scrape and shook granules of Dominant Buck on the real scrapes overhanging branch. They fell to the ground as well. The we found a total of 2 more scrapes in the immediate area and Mark fixed them all up too.

To finish up Mark made a Scent Trail on the ground with his Early Buck granules. It started at the 24 Seven scrape and went by the shooting window of my Double Bull Matrix. If a deer followed the scent trail it would walk by the blind 12 to 15 yards away.

Then we drove back to camp and ate a delicious lunch. After lunch Wade Nolan said he wanted to video my afternoon hunt and Mark Collins said he would take us out at 3:30.

When I arrived I was given a new Bear SQ32 and had sighted it in. Today, after lunch I received a dozen new Gold Tip arrows -- all for this hunt. So I practiced with the new arrows and made some fine adjustments to sight them in just right.
