Bowhunting Report From Tony Dukes
Sweetwater Creek Bowhunting Ranch

Just in from Sweetwater Creek Bowhunting Ranch, near Decatur Texas with Tyge Floyd, of Texasoutdoorsman.com. Hunted 2 1/2 days in the cold rain, first afternoon I grunted up an 8 point I passed on, the next morning only does. That afternoon we walked 5 bucks waiting for Mr. Big. Was raining too hard to hunt on the last morning, passed on 4 more bucks that afternoon. Did arrow a hog.

Saw lots of axis, red and fallow deer, as well as about every species of exotics which inhabit the game rich ranch. Hunts are only $600 and you can take two hogs and a horned exotic or whitetail as well on a 4 day hunt with a nice, furnished lodge. Jim Bob and Michael Little are great hosts and guides on the bowhunting only ranch. Hope to go back soon, lots and lots of game.

I leave Wed. for NW Oklahoma again with Tyge. Still in hot pursuit of the elusive trophy whitetail buck. Stay tuned.

Day #1: The African morning greeted me with an overwhelming clarity and crispness. I was surprised to be shaking off a chill from the open air ride in the Land Rover as I settled into our "hide" (the African name for a blind) with my professional hunter Riaan Ras. I checked my draw through the shooting window and organized my camera and stuff as the sun started to cast it's first shadows.
