BOWHUNT
FOR THE FLORIDA OSCEOLA
 |
In Florida we are
hunting with David Mills of Zolfo Springs, Florida in Central Florida's
Osceola wild turkey country. David is an easy going, likable guy with a
good sense of humor.
David has thousands of acres
available to hunt Florida Osceolas. He understands this unique species
of wild turkey and knows their habitat.
David is now part of the
Woodhaven Sting Team and is hosting Mike Pentecost and several members
of the team on this hunt. To contact David about Osceola hunts, bow
or shotgun, phone 1-863-990-9087. |

Day 9
MORNING - Sean Keleher's
friend Brian Whidden took us to a new area. A red bull and his buddy checked
us out. (Here's a bigger pic of them.) We saw some hens but no gobblers.
AFTERNOON: We are
going to the same place again but moving to the opposite end of the orange
grove, closer to the roost area.
Day 8
- Sean Keleher & the Kamikozi Longbeard
Doug Crabtree
Gets His Osceola

Sometimes the gobblers come
faster than others. This one came like a rocket. Sean...
And we catch up with Doug
Crabtree via Podcast and hear about his successful Osceola
bowhunt.
Day 7 - Friday
A bobcat tried to get my
decoys an hour after daylight. When he got right to them, only inches from
the gobbler, he realized something was wrong and scooted straight out of
Dodge. But no turkey luck for me this morning. When Fred picked me up he
had zipped too. Both of us heard some distant, early gobbles.
I phoned David Mills for
permission to return to the first area we hunted. It was ok and he said
he would have us a new area tomorrow. We went out at 3:30 and I set up
where we saw all the hens the first morning. Fred and Sean Keleher went
to a different area that Sean said was a good afternoon spot. We both zipped.
Day 6 - Thursday

Fred
and I get a little gobbler action. And "aBowhunter" Greg
Ballard tells his tale of his own successful gobbler hunt.
Keith Beam and
Brodie Swisher

Keith
Beam brings in a "sore footed stomp" gobbler and Brodie
Swisher meets the Second Chance gobbler.

The Difference Between Wild & Domestic?
Webster’s
Dictionary defines "turkey" as: a theatrical production that has failed,
three successive strikes in bowling, a stupid or foolish person and a large
North American bird that can either be domestic or wild.
The
large bird is the turkey we're talking about and here is the difference
between

So What Is A Grand
