A Word From Mike Pentecost
Last year MIchael Spivey and myself hunted here in Florida with David Mills. I got a longbeard and it completed my Gand Slam. I enjoyed hunting with David and we planned a hunt for 2006. (Mike is President of Woodhaven Custom Calls.)

We are filming our next Sting Team DVD right now, it will be named Springtime Victories, volume 2. We brought several Woodhaven team members in for this hunt and are videoing their hunts for this upcoming DVD. Several of our calling team and key people in the company are here at this hunt. I believe in building comaradie. It lets people know they are appreciated and that has made Woodhaven a better call company.

Opening Morning - Our Hunts
David Mills secured a property for Michael Spivey, Ryan Prince and myself to hunt and David and I located a gobbler on the roost the afternoon before opeing day.

We hunted all day opening day. We started at the roost area and called in some hens and saw 3 gobblers but they were spooky. The landowner, Doc, was with us in the blind and he said he "had a blast." He asked a lot of questions. He was amazed that the animals could actually be called. We enjoyed hunting with him.

We took Doc back to his truck and went to the North end of the property. We had 4 jakes come in to 5 yards. At 4:00 we broke the setup and moved to our original site and set up again. I got a response from a gobbler from my Cherry Real Hen box call. It came from over 500 yards. The gobbler got within 60 yards and stopped. It was getting late and the gobbler roosted.

We don't know what's going to happen but we are going back tomorrow morning.

David Mills and I had been my ground blind long before daylight and the hens and gobblers started talking. It was very foggy and we didn't hear a bird fly down until just after 8:00. They talked to us some but didn't come in sight.
