Pro-Ears
I opened the package and
checked the Pro-Ears Predator unit. It was easy to see the worth of hearing
better, to reach out a few hundred more yards and hear a gobble that you
would not have without them. However, I had a question gnawing away in
the back of my mind. What would happen when I called with the diaphragm
calls, would it be horribly loud? So deafening that I couldn't call with
them on?
I put the Pro-Ears on and
walked out in my front yard and called as loud as possible. I was surprised.

It sounded normal.
Then, to compare the two
I called with the Pro-Ears on, and off, several times, just to be sure.
Amazing, there was no difference in the volume. Good news, for sure.
That afternoon I drove to
one of my hunting haunts (the Hammer Hole) to wild hog hunt and wore the
Pro-Ears. I experimented with the separate ear adjustments until I had
it comfortable. Just for grins I took out my loudest mouth call and blew
the roof off the place.
The next two hours I clearly
heard rabbits, squirrels and a some animals that never showed themselves
-- that were too far away to hear as clearly as I could heard them. Again,
I verified that by removing the Pro-Ears to compare.
Hear better. And loud noises
are softened. Sounds good to me.
I'm gonna like using the
Pro-Ears on the 4x4 Grand Slammer. Maybe they'll pick up a distant gobbler
that I wouldn't have heard -- and that opportunity might get me a bird.
