Later a button buck and little
doe came it and ate scattered corn. The button buck kept looking back over
its right shoulder. Soon a small and large does slowly approached. Daylight
was fading but there was still good enough shooting light when the biggest
doe turned broadside. The next morning, after hunting at the Point, John went to the Pond again and searched the area in the daylight. He saw small traces of blood on the ground and tracked them right to the doe 80 yards away in the open. The shot hit both lungs but
was a little high and the doe didn't loose much blood on the ground, which
made the trail sparse.
John lives in the Fort Worth, Texas area and has been a Custom Home Builder since 1983. His specialty is high end, totally custom homes. John and I have bowhunted together when he joined the lease for his first bowhunt 20 deer seasons ago. We have had lots of super times and good hunts. During that time we have
enjoyed helping several people get interested in bowhunting, including
his son Bryant who took his first two does at age 15. Bryant has been on
Bowhunting.net numerous times since then and taken does, wild hogs, black
bear and a buck.
