The following companies were represented at the Whitetail Unive sity Writers Camp: Mike Jordan of ATSKO, Dana Brackins of Carbon Express , Alan Ainsworth of NULLO, and Jay Leitchy of Grim Reaper Broadheads. The seminars and bowhunt are at Dreamwoods Adventures. in Southern Illinois. Greg Griffith - Dream Woods Adventures Greg lives in the area and has hunted the Southern Illinois woods all his life. it is a mix of hard woods, crop fields, swamps, as well as creek and river bottoms. It is known for its high population of whitetail deer as wall as big whitetail bucks. Pope county is the number 2 county in Illinois for deer population. The picture above is one of Greg's big bucks. Greg told me, "If anybody comes to Southern Illinois and hunts deer and wild turkey here they will want to come back because this is the type of place you can't find anywhere else." Greg has worked as a guide and it was "the best, most enjoyable job he had ever had.. I enjoyed meeting the new people and the camaraderie in camp and wanted more of it.:" Greg wanted to have his own outfitting business and he joined forces with one of his hunting buddies, Doug Doty and they started Dream Woods Adventures.

Whitetail University
He is a partner with Wade Nolan on the Writers Camps. Bruce does the initial work with the outfitters and arranges the details of the accommodations and the manufacturers and writers. Once the event is under way Bruce is the liaison between the manufacturers and the writers and media at the Writers Camp. "We put all these people together and a natural synergy happens," said Bruce. "It gives a chance for manufacturers to meet each other an pick each others brains as well as meet influential writers and media and in an informal atmosphere build relationships." In addition to his duties with Whitetail University Bruce works with several clients doing marketing consulting, advertising creation and placing ads. He believes the writer manufacturer is important for meeting the goals of his clients. Brian

These days Brian works as head of the Pro Staff for Whitetail University, as well as lead camera man and Outdoor Writer Camp Co-ordinator. Their association grew and Brian purchased professional equipment and began doing video work more regularly. In 2004 Brian started his own business Whitetail Technologies -- Video For Your Success. He videos bowhunting clients and the business has a good client base and is growing. In the last two years Brian has taken kids bowhunting and videos them. "They are so excited. And they are the next generation of bowhunters and anything that I can o to help them out I do, any of my friends kids that want to go I take them." "We set up overlooking funnel and travel areas where the terrain charcteristics create deer movement near the treestands. " "The weather looks super this year. The farmers had record harvests so the deer are in absulutely the best condition they could be in, which relates to better antler growth and body weight. We have already seen giant bucks so we know our hunters will have shot opportunities at great bucks." "Next week we have a group of 5 traditional bowhunters who have bowhunted together all over the US, as well as in Canada Alaska and Africa. Then our rut hunts start and we are looking forward to some impressive trophy bucks being taken then. On November 1oth we have another Writers Camp bowhunt that is during the final days of the rut. The weather here is milder in terms of snow and severe cold weather. The weather herre is easier on our deer hunters and puts less stress on the deer herd." Director of Media Relations Bruce orchestrates the Writers Camps. Bruce
is a licensed outfitter in West Virginia. His hunting business is Bowden
Stables & Outfitters in Elkins, West Virginia. He outfits and guides
Whitetails, Wild Turkey, Black Bear as well as trout fishing. He specializes
in horse back hunts and drop camps into large wilderness areas. The web

Pennsylvanian for 40 years, Brian first shot a bow when he was 8 bagged
his first bow buck when he was 12 - a 9-point buck. His passion for bowhunting
grew over the years. Seven years ago Brian met Wade Nolan at Whitetail
seminar that Wade gave. He showed Wade pictures of bucks he had taken and
Wade was impressed. Little by little Wade gave Brian video assignments.
That went well and Brian attended Video Workshop that Wade gives every
year.
