Dec 23
This morning there were over 200 infrared pictures of deer in the food plot area. I checked the camera before I was ready to go out and there had not been any pictures in the last 20 minutes. So I slipped out to my ground blind at 5:05. I didn't even have an arrow nocked before I noticed a deer shaped shadow 20 yards away. Before long I could make out antlers with the help of my Nikon binoculars.

The buck waited in the area, watching the surrounding trees and the hill. He left about one minute before I could see my pins, but I wouldn't have shot anyway.

That was it for the morning deer show. At 9:30 I went back home and chucked my hunting clothiers in my backing soda impregnated 55 galloon trash can. Then I poured a cup of hot coffee and checked the BuckEye Cam wireless pictures from the night before.

Good News! Wide-8 was still in the area.

He made his appearance at 7:52pm. You can see him in the infrared pic below.

He turns and goes off camera.

He walks right up again at 7:55 and looks around the area.

The BuckEye Cam gets him again 6 seconds later and he is gone from the pics.

At 10:24 an 8-pt with nice tines walks by the camera.

Five minutes later he lets u get a good look at his rack as he approaches another buck.

He co-operates nicely and give us a side view.

The camera caught more pics of him and this was the last at 10:51pm.

As I scrolled through dozens of pictures of bucks and does I noticed the Wide-8 again after midnight.

He strolls by the camera and we don't have any more pictures of him..

Like I said earlier there were over 200 pictures taken last night. Considering there were none only a few days ago I think it is fair to say that the deer lull in activity is near the end.

After lunch I drove to the Point to see if the CamTrakker had any pictures for me. It definitely did ... an eye popping brand new buck at 10:22 this morning!
