As promised, my neighbor Robert brought over the head of the buck he killed few days ago to see if it was the Big Boy 10 buck. I took Robert's picture with his buck and then we went inside to look at the pictures I have of Big Boy 10. One thing that stood out was the brow tines in the picture (below). They are definitely wider than the thin brow tines in Robert's picture. At this point we were thinking that they were two obviously similar but different bucks. When we got to this picture the writing was on the wall. Those thin brow tines sure looked like the ones on Robert's buck. Then we looked at the head again and turned it so the antlers were at the same angle in the picture above. No doubt about it. Robert's buck is Big Boy 10. The morning Robert bagged Big Boy 10 he saw him run out of the thick woods of another neighbors property. Robert is a crack rifle shot and is used to taking long shots at coyotes and wild hogs and those years of experience paid off for Robert that morning. He put his scope on the buck and dropped him on the run at 300 yards. (You can hunt with bow and rifle hunt here in December.) I congratulated Robert.
