December 21 - Slow Start, Fast Finish

MORNING: In the dark I followed the fence until it came to a gully. That led me to the general area where I'd set up my Double Bull at New Secret Stand. Daylight came and deer snorted loudly behind me and to the left. My first thought was that they had smelled me. But the air filled with the loud wailing and barking of coyotes. My guess was they were about 50-70 yards away.

Twenty minutes later they were still hard at it. 

So I walked back to the truck, drove to the Point and was ready to go at 8:01. Yesterday I bought some small bungy cords at Wal-Mart and used three to fix myself what I thought was a pretty slick camera picture taking hole with the mesh down. It keeps the mesh tight and gives me a crisp open space.

At 9:54 a young sixer walked into view from my left and walked by so close he was almost in the Double Bull with me.

I hung in, waiting to see if any wild turkeys came to sip a little water. Nothing happened and I called it quits at straight up 11:00. 

I wanted to get back out early and be good to go by 2:00
