The
NorthStarr Advantage
by
Don "Duck" Beckwith
The
webmaster and I went to Ohio to hunt with Dennis "Crabby" Crabtree. Dennis
has a lot of stands placed in great locations. He uses screw in steps and
sets them way apart.
Lately,
my knees won't let me climb to these stands anymore.
NorthStarr
Treestands has a Climbing Pole with sections. It folds up for transport
and unfolds to mount to the tree. This year I fastened this climbing pole,
the Quiet Starr, to the tree I hunted. Problem Solved.

I
put up Quiet Starr climbing pole at Dennis's Hoss
Cat Hill stand and got a doe there.
NorthStarr
Treestands also had a new and unique ladder stand, the Traveling
Starr, that we also took with us to Ohio. It is quick, easy and very
portable. This stand is perfect for an ambush stand (when the animals are
on the next trail over) as well as for checking out new areas when you
want to set up quickly and quietly.
The
ladder sections are hinged together and it folds up for easy carrying --
and unfolds when you want to fasten it on a tree. The design is unique
because this ladder attaches against the tree. U-brackets fold out on each
section which keeps the ladder 6 to 8 inches from the tree so you can get
your heavy winter boots on the rungs..
All
NorthStarr stands fasten with ratchet straps, a great feature because ratchets
are stronger and tighter .The Traveling Starr has 4 ratchets, one for each
of is four sections.
The
thing that makes this stand unique is that it has a fold down platform
and a good sized seat built into the ladder. At the top it has steps that
fold out from the sides of the ladder to allow you to step on the platform.

I
can carry the Traveling Starr into the woods, fold it out, set it up against
the tree, ratchet it tight, pull up my bow, and be hunting in 10 minutes.
I can also do this in the dark because the stand is all together and the
ratchets are very easy to fasten.
This
stand is great for guys like me who are not as agile as we used to be.
I also
took this ladder stand on the Ohio hunt, set
it up, and saw several bucks.
Thanks
NorthStarr Treestands for your great products.
