Zan Christensen - 2003 Deer Hunt 

I had a great hunt on Saturday morning.  Considering the circumstances of the setup and shot opportunity, I'm most pleased. This 10 point was working a doe pretty hard, ran her up the bowl beside me, but I couldn't make it happen when they went by me at 18yds.

About 15 min later here they come back over the ridge, head'n down the bowl!    I was able to stop him this time and my 14yd shot was perfect.  He was down within 75yds.  This guy was a true warrior, 4.5 yrs old and two broken tines! 

He's the largest bodied buck I've killed, weighed a solid 200 #, which is very large for our neck of the woods.  Being the monster he was, I couldn't get him in the pickup so I had to use a tree & pully system and use the truck to pull him up, then tied off, then backed up under him to get him in the bed.

Things are still looking good out here, I've seen several really large bucks so far, a monster 8pt/20+" low rider, and a monster 8pt with very long beams & tines.  Missed a big 10pt two weeks ago at 7yds!  Too much action too fast, didn't concentrate, and..... 

Anyway, I kept it together on this one.  One more tag to go, two bruisers to choose from.  Hmmmm. .......Zano
