Sept 26, 2000 - A Deer Hunt About To Be In Progress - MORNING
In the early morning and late afternoon the sunlight plays with the
zoom cameras digital processing of the pictures. As the sun changes positions
it affects the color tone and clarity of the picture. The first buck on
the scene in the morning was this young 7-pointer.
I noticed a buck this weekend that was limping badly. It came in ...
and no wonder it walks with such a swagger, it has only 3 legs. But it
is healthy and is doing fine.
A doe stomps its front foot at something I can't see.
A larger buck comes from the woods. Notice how white it's hocks are.
By the end of October his hocks will be dark brownish black, his neck will
be much fatter, and his forehead will be black from rubbing his forehead
gland on limbs and stimulating the area.
A fawn that has lost it's spots walks very close to me and and stops,
it sees me but can't figure out what I am. It looses interest and walks
through my back yard.
A second fawn follows it, this one is smaller and still has some spots.
It investigates some barrels by one of my corrals.
That's the highlights of our deer visitors this morning. There were more in the Afternoon.
