Sept 25, 2000 - A Deer Hunt About To Be In Progress
The first deer to show up in my food plot area was this buck. I wanted
to get more pictures of him but he stayed in the shadows of the woods and
scent marked limbs. He never came out in the open.

Our area has 3 different color deer: gray, tan and chocolate brown.
On the left we have Brownie, a year and a half old buck that is dark brown,
he's sporting his first rack. He was joined by several other young bucks.

A 2 1/2 year old cruses by the younger bucks.
A small bodied 3-point was on edge the entire time because the other
bucks were aggressive to him. Notice the size difference between it and
the other 1 1/2 year old buck that you can only see half of.
Several groups of does came by. For the most part the bucks kept them
from the feeding area. However their fawns had no problem as the bucks
paid no attention to them. Not all the bucks were young ones!

These two bucks are a "buddy group" and they travel together. Note the
buck on the right has an identifying mark under it's left eye. They went
to the food plot and chowed down -- and they did not allow any other deer
near them while they ate.
Not a bad afternoon, eh!
