Fall Black Bear Bowhunt With Fred Lutger
Equipment Field Tests CAROLINA NORTH - Hang
'Em High
One of the regularly used products on the bear hunt was the Hang 'Em High Hoist. It helped take the bite out two of the real tough jobs. Fred likes to weigh all the bears that are harvested.
I've used the Hang 'Em High hoists for deer and it does a very nice job of getting the deer off the ground as well as letting them back down. And it is ok for smaller bears, too. But the 200, 300 and heavier type bears are harder to lift. The hoist will handle the weight, the problem however is on the people end. Pulling up heavy bears is sometimes impossible for one person. And when two people pull on the same rope It is only a little bit easier. The anserer for the bigger bears is multiple Hang 'Em Highs. Using two of them is a big help. We used a 450 pound scale
hooked to two Hang 'Em High Hoists. We tied a Rope Ratchet around the bear
, under its arms, and hook it to the scale. And two guys can pull the bear
off the ground.
The more we use Rope Ratchet
products them more uses we find for them. They are definitely an asset
to any hunting trip. ROPE

EZY-CLIMB ROD TREE STEPS
On two bait sites we set up treestands with EZY-Climb Tree Steps.
With one, and only one, exception! Cranford's EZY Climb Tree Steps. They bite right away and screw in the tree fast and easy. The taper and thread of the screw is designed perfectly. The steps have a large step area for secure footing. SThe step has deep scoring for non slip, secure footing. The step Fred is using in
the pictures above and below is the EZY Climb Rod Tree step. We also had
their Deluxe Folding Tree Step and it worked just as well.
LIMBSAVER Products
(Sims Vibration Laboratory)
We received LIMBSAVER Ultras, Cable Guard Dampener, Cable Slide and S-Coil Stabilizers. They came last minute so we put them on at bear camp before the hunters arrived. We wanted to see if they really made any difference. Duck set his bow up with
the Limbsaver items and shot. It was very quiet and he said it was extra
smooth. No wonder Limbsaver has been widely used in the archery and bowhunting
world.
