The Ontario Fall Bear Season - Arrival At Camp
This morning we are in Atikokan at Bud Dickson's Canoe Canada Outfitters where I will update from every day.

The drive from Chicago to Fred Lutger's Bear Camp was a breeze, Paul Milhuff and I arrived right at dark. There are 12 people in camp. The weather is warm for up here, in the high 60's and the bears are very active. All but one of the 32 baits is getting cleaned every day. We ate a fish fry, fresh small mouth from the lake behind the cabin, and turned in for the night.

Getting Ready:
Every so often I reclaim my perspective, at first I feel like I'm on the brink of something totally new, and as the excitement settles a bit I realize I've done it a dozen times before, and I really love it. Bears are like nothing else in North America to hunt with your bow. The potential danger, the stealth the hunt requires, and finally just the sight of a bear at 20 yards. It thrusts you into the moment. 100%, all the way into the pit. This morning at 4:00am Paul Millhuff picks me up here in Chicago and we begin the drive to another bear adventure. And, this time you get to go along with us.
