Arizonan, Cindy Wortman was not raised in a hunting family. Her introduction into the sport came from her husband Bill whom she married in 1988.  Bill not only put a bow in her hand for the first time but also helped to make it a sport that would quickly play a major part in her life.
An avid, outdoor enthusiast, Cindy has spent her life working on ranches, thoroughbred farms, dude stables and such. She has also fostered a deep love, an ownership, of countless breeds of animals from chicken to ferrets and wolves. Due to this love for animals it was hard for her husband to imagine her taking an animal with a bow. Now she is a tough competitor not only in the field but also on the 3-D course. She is also on the staff of Oneida Eagle where she is winning converts to this company's line of equipment.
Still an acknowledged novice, Cindy has successfully combined being a mother, wife and homemaker while holding down the fort of 20 animals. She is also a photographer, a foot model, fletches arrows for an archery shop, is secretary of her local archery club, editor of local horse club newsletter, volunteer compliance inspector for Bureau of Land Management (wild horse and burro program) and Children & Youth Chairperson for the American Legion. Add to that avid bowhunter and now our newest columnist here at bowhunting.net.
Her and her husband have 2 boys that, like mom and dad, are also into archery. I don't know how she does it all but we are certainly lucky she can fit us in.  If you ever wondered if bowhunting was a 'Family Sport', you won't ever want to miss what this lady has to say. . . . . Rich Walton
