Cooking with SusieQ: Mexican Steak Fry

By: Sue ‘SusieQ’ Burch

2 lbs venison cube steak or any cube steak will do
28 oz. can whole peeled tomatoes with juice (I used crushed tomatoes, I just always do in my recipes)
1 large chopped onion
1 large chopped green pepper
1 can diced green chilies
Dash of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
Jalapeno peppers as desired for taste
1 minced garlic clove

I used garlic salt and pepper to season my cube steak before I cut it up into smaller pieces. Then roll it in flour and brown in olive oil or oil or your choice. Drain your browned cube steak on paper towels. In a large bowl add tomatoes, large chopped onion, large chopped green pepper, diced green chilies, cayenne pepper(I added three dashes to ours), cumin, salt, pepper, jalapeno, garlic clove and stir until mixed well. You will need to spray your pan then add your browned cube steak, next just pour over other ingredients you have in bowl. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. I cooked ours for 90 minutes but my oven cooks slow. Roll in tortillas with cheese and sour cream… ummmm so good! You have to try this recipe!!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we have… it is a keeper!!!
