Last Minute Cancellation Bowhunts – Book NOW!

Hunt 1: Outfitter that Mark has hunted with and we’ve had great success with on archery brown bear has a late cancellations. Outfitter also has permit in the Togiak Wildlife Refuge and has one opening Aug. 19th – 30th. This hunt is normally $16,000, now discounted to $14,500. You will also have bush flights into either camp of $950 round trip plus $500 for brown bear tag and $85 for license.

Hunt 2: New Mexico Elk ? due to cancellation last week there are 2 spots available in unit 52 in New Mexico for archery elk. Hunt can be booked as 5 or 7 day hunt and can be booked as 1×1 or 2×1 (if there are two of you booking.). Outfitter is an avid bowhunter as are nearly all his guides. Unit 52 is up near Chama and area historically has produced 6×6 bulls that avg. 300+. Good numbers of elk, and no fires there currently. Dates are Sept. 16-20th (5 day) or Sept. 16- 22nd (7 day). Arrive in Albuquerque day prior, depart day after. Airport pickup included. 5 day 1×1 $3,750 or 7 days $4,750. Normally $4,500 & $5,500. 5 day 2×1 $3,000 or 7 day $3,750. Normally $3,750 & $4,500. You will also be required to buy landowner permit for $1500 and license (Quality High Demand Area) @ about $775.

Hunt 3: 10 day 1×1 archery elk  Selway Wilderness Area . This hunt will be guided by the outfitter himself that Mark has known for many years. The outfitter guides for archery brown bear in Alaska for one of our other outfitters and is retired from the Fish and Game in Idaho and has a full time outfitting business. The hunt is $5,000 plus license, tag and ID tax. You would fly to Missoula Montana, rent a car and drive to Hamilton where you would catch a bush flight in a 206 into camp. Bush flight is an additional $360. This is 10 full days of wilderness horseback hunting deep in the Selway with an exceptional guide. Hunt dates can be any 10 days that work for you between Sept. 15th and the 30th.

Hunt 4: 6 day WY combination Mule Deer / Pronghorn: 2 spots open due to clients  having to move hunt to 2013. We have booked 16 clients on this combination hunt, 14 have taken both species and each of the remaining two harvested one species and had shot opportunities on the 2nd. Tags are available out of a left over pool. Hunt dates are Sept. 1-6th. Fly into Casper WY on Aug. 31, depart the 7th. Hunt is $5,195 plus cost of tags and archery stamp  total $642.

Hunt 5: 8 day 1×1 moose hunt in Alberta during peak rut. Dates Sept. 27th – Oct. 4th. Arrive Edmonton the 26th, home Oct. 5th. Outfitter has 10 total archery moose permits and went 8 for 10 in 2011. Expect bulls in the 35+ –  45+ range. Price $5,450 plus $500 for tag and tax. Excellent archery outfitter.

Hunt 6: Alberta Mule Deer 6 day 2×1 $4,500 all inclusive of tag and tax. (2 spots available) Outfitter is a bowhunting only outfitter who BSC advisers Dwight Schuh and Don Thomas have hunted with numerous times. Hunt takes place in SE Alberta near the Saskatchewan River. Dates Oct. 16th – 21st. Fly into Calgary. Expect deer in the 160+ – 180+ class, some larger. Expect to see a lot of deer daily on this hunt with stalks daily as well. Outfitter has hunted this same area for 13 years.

Hunt 7: Colorado Mule Deer hunt in unit 301. Landowner tag included. 1 spot Sept. 4th – 8th or 14th – 18th. Hunt is 5 days 1×1 and extra days can be added for $350 a day. Cost is $4,500 (which included Landowner Permit) plus $70 / day room and board. You will also have the cost of the deer license of $335. This is a 40,000 acre ranch with good populations of deer. Expect deer in the 160+ class and they’ll be in velvet for sure first hunt and some in the 2nd. We have been sending clients to CO with this outfitter for many years. BSC adviser Tom Miranda will be hunting pronghorn in August on the same ranch.

Hunt 8: Roosevelt Elk – Oregon. 6 days 1×1 $4,500 plus license and tag ($641 Total). This is the only Roosevelt Elk hunt we recommend in the lower 48 and we’ve had several clients take bulls here and shot opportunity is normally 100% – you need to be in good shape for this hunt and while Oregon has a nasty reputation for wet weather along the coast, normally Sept. in this region is mild weather. There are 2 spots available Sept. 10 – 15th during peak rut. You fly into North Bend where you’ll be met and taken to camp which consists of travel trailers. Hunting is done on a combination of private and public ground.
