July 29 - Pics of a Buck In Velvet
Daybreak. Pouring rain. I went back to bed.
When the rain stopped an hour later it woke me up so I watched my food plot area for awhile. A buck in velfvet came into the area and walked around. It let me get 4 good pics.
Sunshine Deer - (July 28)

Here are a few select pics of the deer I saw this morning. The sunlight made for some cool lighting effects: a doe and fawn (it's growing too). Two does making aggressive postures at each other. A near sureal pic of a flagging deer. And a wallpaper of my favorite deer picture for the year, so far. I call it Sunshine Deer. (1024x768) (800x600) (640x480)

First Fawn Pictures of the Year - I've seen fawns since June 8. But couldn't get pictures of any. But this morning I did when a doe walked by that had 2 fawns. Fawn Pic #1 and Fawn Pic #2.

They're A Growin'

This April they were not even hatched. Today they're half grown. We've been fortunate enough to follow a flock's growth and progress in pictures from early June until now. The last couple of days I've seen them around 3:00 in the afternoon so I waited in my Double Bull blind and lucked up, they came right by me and I got 23 pictures for your enjoyment of 3 adult hens and their poults.

Hunter Safety Course - Each year we participate in the Texas Parks & Wildlife Hunter Safety program in Waco, TX. The course is headed up by Jim Gardener. Our part is to help out as needed and to present the Bowhunting Education & Treestand Safety parts of the course. To Hunter Safety Event.

Grand Slammer Field Tests 2

The equipment we used on this Spring's 4x4 Grand Slammer was a key factor in the success of our 4 separate quests for the Grand Slam.
Here is my personal take on products we used:
Field Tests, # 1: Knight & Hale Game Calls, Double Bull, BowTech and Montana Decoy.
Tests # 2: CarboMask, the Fine-LIne Hunter bowquiver, Barrie Archery's Rocky Mountain Broadheads and the Pro Ears hunting model.
Tests # 3: Carter One Shot hunting release, Timberline Power Glo Extreme, MyTopo Maps and EASTON C2 Carbon Epic arrows.
