For Wild Turkeys
Two hours before sunset I parked my truck in a clump of cedars and walked to my vantage point on the hill, high above a 300 acre grain field, split in half by the winding Leon River. I saw movement along the river. Turkeys, 4 of them, and they were going the right way. I hopped in my truck and rushed over to Rick's Hot Turkey Stand at the bend in the river. A gobbler and 3 hens were already in view. They crossed the corner of the field and ducked under the fence at exactly the same place I saw the wild turkeys yesterday. Memory Of Ralph Gorsuch - Ralph died of cancer last Sunday. At his
funeral his friends and hunting buddies lined up and put an arrow into
an empty quiver in memory and as a memorial to Ralph. They filled several
quivers with over two hundred arrows. Some even arrived by UPS. Ralph was
a friend, a teacher and an archery technician for hundreds of archers and
bowhunters. Ralph Gorsuch leaves a lot of friends behind. And we will miss
him.

Good Grief, That's My Archery Target!
Sheeze-a-pete, this morning, while I was making more coffee, I glanced out of the kitchen window and a cow and a calf were sure as the dickens eating my archery target. I wanted to break their necks, but instead I grabbed my camera and took their picture. When I looked at the pict I just had to put it up as a wallpaper as kind of a "woes of being a bowhunter" thing. BOWHUNT: Wild Hogs & Javelina At Rancho del Zorro: Day 1-3
Javelina were in the road, about 80 yards from the Curve blind and 200 yards from us. Chad stopped and turned off the pickup's engine. He took their picture as I grabbed my bow. An old, rusty fence is to the right, along the side of the road, so I slipped over to it and stepped over a low place in the wire. Brush and mesquite grow along much of the fence. They provided good cover so I walked briskly for half the distance, but then the cover ran out. More... Deer

Fatneck. He showed up with a companion, a doe, and gave my camera some
