A Jack Rabbit? And Do They Really Have Antlers, as in Jackalope?
As I walked around yesterday I spotted a fairly common sight, a jack rabbit. Every time someone comes to the Southwest to hunt and sees these big, long eared rabbits they are amazed. The jack rabbit was 50 yards away, doing the freeze, as in holding still. I casually walked in its direction. When the jack lowered its ears I knew it was going to "hold tight" instead of run. I stopped 10 yards from the rabbit and took a picture of it in "freeze mode". It did not move a muscle. Neither did I -- and the battle of the "freezers" was on. Finally, ol' Jack broke and had to look. Oh, before I forget, contrary to what everyone in Wyoming will tell you, there is no such thing as a Jackalope. To
