Photos - the Food Plot Is Coming Up Now
I received several types
of seed and decided to plant the PlotSpike Premium Mix. The PlotSpike
Premium Mix (shown above) is their premier blend and contains perennial
Brome Grass, one of the most nutritious and palatable grasses available.
In addition the mix contains Clovers, Chicory and Forage Rape.

To make a comparison of
how the food plot was progressing, the morning after plowing I took
a picture of the fresh tilled ground. Apparently the deer were curious
about the plot because it had a bunch of deer tracks all over it.
In 4 days the first green
seedlings were visible. A week passed and 2 inches of rain fell. Immediately
there were splotches of growth like this all around the plot.
I left for the First Annual
Bowhunting.net Deerhunt at Wild Horse Prairie Ranch and when I returned
the food plot was nicely filled in and full of lush new growth.
So at this point our food
plot we have a nice crop growing. We will follow its progress right here.
WHAT'S THIS ABOUT:
At the ATA Archery Trade Show I discussed making a food plot with Mike
Massey of the PlotSpike
line of wildlife food plot products. Mike had me send soil samples from
3 different places on my deer hunting property. I did and he promptly got
back with me with his recommendations and sent seeds for me to plant.
