Day 2 - Afternoon

The morning bowhunt was a good as it gets and Mark Denman and I were stoked for the afternoon hunt. We were ready to hunt and in our treestands shortly after 4:30. Early on we had a buck walk by behind us, he was very close but the brush was too thick for a shot. 

Two bucks appeared in the distance and ambled down the trail the Bomber used yesterday, steadily getting closer to us. They walked by at 10 yards from our tree. Young bucks, in good shape but not what we were hunting for on this hunt.
The sun dangled above the tree tops and the the woods was a mixture of shadows and tunnels of bright light. A buck came from our left where the woods was more open. He was just out of range so I grunted. He paid me no attention and kept walking until he disappeared in the trees. 

The sunlight faded to dim and we walked to the ranch's 4 wheeler. On the way to camp we saw over 20 deer, they moved late today. This was the end of the hunt with Keith Warren, a short hunt but one that this bowhunter will always remember.
