Reports In on his Ohio Bowhunt
Hey
guy’s, it sure was a pleasure having lunch with you on Saturday.
I just got back to CA this Sunday.
A
long 11 days of hunting, although I was lucky enough to be tagged out on
my 5th day. I spent the rest of the week trying to get my brother on a
buck, no luck.
Our
camp ended up with 5 deer, 3 bucks and 2 does, one P&Y 8 point bruiser
missed by my uncle who later shot a smaller 8, and a 7 pointer shot by
my cousin(his first deer with a bow). I harvested a doe my first
night on stand, then followed up with a doe on Tuesday morning and a buck
on Tuesday afternoon from the same stand. This buck ended up being
my best buck ever!
I heard
a stick break to the East, 2 seconds later there he was walking at a slight
quartering away angle with his nose to the ground.
I picked
up my bow, came to full draw, estimated the yardage at approximately 37
yards, mouth grunted to get him to stop, sent the arrow on it’s way.
He ran about 20 yards stopped and looked back, and walked over a hill and
out of sight.
He
only made it another 40 yards before expiring. The shot ended up right
in the boiler room. What an Ohio hunt, my 15th year of bow hunting
in Southern Ohio with friends and family, life is good.
Good
Luck, Derek Rothwell
P.S.
I’ve attached a couple of Pic’s one with my brother Mark included.
